The ideal candidate will have an understanding of legal practices and procedures, as well as experience with various aspects of criminal and personal injury law.
The successful candidate will be in charge of reviewing and analyzing documents, communicating with clients and legal counsel, and producing research reports.
Responsibilities:
Provide administrative and clerical support to a legal office.
Receive, sort, and prioritize mail and other documents.
Maintain filing systems, create new files, update records in computer databases, and alphabetize files.
Answers telephone calls, take messages, and forward calls to appropriate parties.
Perform research on legal topics or case law in online or hard copy resources.
Perform legal research and analysis.
Draft correspondence.
Respond to general inquiries from clients and the general public.
Create or update spreadsheets or other electronic information.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
