Monday - Friday (including a one-hour unpaid lunch break) for the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System (CAVHCS), Dothan VA Mental Health Clinic, located at 3753 Ross Clark Circle, Suite 4, Dothan, AL 36303.
No work on weekends or holidays.
Will work (1) week on, and (1) week off.
Total of 80 hours per month (Part-time).
Veteran Hiring Preference - may require verification of DD-214 Security Guards Minimum Qualification Standards:
(a) Education/
Experience:
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalency, and have two (2) years experience demonstrating:
1.
Basic security and safety duties and responsibilities (i.
e.
, security guard, loss prevention, etc.
) 2.
Ability to meet and deal successfully with the general public.
3.
Ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.
4.
Understand and apply printed rules, detailed orders, instructions, and training materials.
5.
Ability to maintain poise and self-control under stress.
6.
Ability to conduct Stop and Question of persons found in closed areas, halls, locked areas, parking lots, or VA property during business, after hours and on weekends / holidays to ensure no criminal activity has or is taking place.
7.
Must be capable of detaining person(s) while local police are notified and arrive.
8.
Ability to construct and write clear, concise, accurate, and detailed reports.
9.
Must have computer experience and the ability to type simple word processing documents to prepare reports and daily journals.
Will not be on Government computer system, but will have ability to use stand-alone computer.
10.
Must possess skills in telephone etiquette and office organization skills.
(b) Age:
All Contractor employees performing work under this contract shall be a minimum of twenty-one (21) years of age or as required by local laws.
(c) Guards must not have any criminal record that would be unacceptable for security enforcement personnel.
Documentation of Criminal Background/Warrant Check must be obtained before an employee can begin work.
Must be capable of being bonded.
(d) Must be able to maintain confidentiality of position.
Will not have access to criminal reports, reports of a personal nature, patient computerized data and confidential law enforcement information.
Will not remove any record or copy from Government property.

Must possess current ASRB Security Officer License (unarmed), and requisite, annual, 8-hr refresher training from a certified trainer or training school.
